What exactly do you do at your company?
I am Project Lead at disserto management gmbh. We develop and configure modular IT solutions based on Microsoft Dynamics, specifically Microsoft Dynamics CRM. As Project Lead, I act as the point of contact between the customer and our internal development department.
Together with our customers, I determine what aspects of their day-to-day operations could be supported using IT, and find solutions to optimize their work processes. Based on this, our team develops a customer-specific product, which is then programmed by us as well. My specific tasks during the project work include classic time management, coordination of user and programming support, as well as supporting customers in coming up with new ideas to optimize work processes, for example in controlling, accounting, or billing. I take care of our developments from start to finish.
What do you find fascinating about this profession?
It sounds so trite, but the daily challenges fascinate me. Every day, I have to rethink things and consider new options. It means I have to think about the customer’s specific situation and actively work towards achieving their goals. Designing individual projects always brings new learning opportunities. Here at disserto, we see ourselves as pioneers of the digital age, and are always delighted when our IT solutions are able to replace obsolete versions or laborious manual processes, and are met with enthusiasm on the part of the customer. The customer’s approval is the biggest reward and motivation for my daily work. That’s what I find fascinating.
Why did you choose this job at a Berlin-based company?
Berlin is changing every day, and change is of particular importance in my industry. As such, it’s a great advantage to live in a city like Berlin. Furthermore, I appreciate the cultural and sporting activities that Berlin has to offer. If you want to, you can be out and about all day and night.
I originally come from the Baltic coast (Usedom) and worked and lived in Munich for ten years, before I moved to Berlin in 2012. I appreciate Berlin’s proximity to my hometown, combined with the fact that my family lives here in Berlin, and the city is just incredibly exciting.
