What exactly do you do in your company?
I’m a customer consultant at Caroobi. We refer our customers to a local, certified workshop for repairs to their vehicles and immediately book the workshop services at a guaranteed fixed price. No additional payments, no surprises! It’s my job to advise customers and to undertake the booking process with them.
My standard working day is generally taken up with customer contact on the telephone or in writing. In detail, it goes like this: as soon as a customer lands on our homepage and is interested in our products, they submit their inquiry or details. Then I receive the information about who is interested in what sort of repairs, and call the customer to clarify further details. This, of course, requires a lot of knowledge about vehicles, so every week I participate in several courses given by experienced automobile mechanics – both our own in-house mechanics and external mechanics who come to us.
In addition, as is normal these days in a start-up, I’m also involved in the entire business processes. I observe and try, together with my colleagues, to make our workflows more efficient.
What attracted you to the job?
The job at Caroobi is varied, since we offer a range of 100 different products. In this sense, customer consultancy is never monotonous. And I simply enjoy having direct contact with the customers. During a typical 8-hour day, I speak with lots of different people and we solve the most varied of problems together. Routine never creeps in. Aside from that, our service is simply well-received by the customers. I get a lot of positive feedback in my job, especially customer feedback, and that is very valuable. And, of course, our team is also a big draw – there’s always a great atmosphere here and everybody helps each other out.
Why did you decide on this job with a Berlin company?
I am originally from Wiesbaden and then studied economics in Cologne. After my studies, I knew that I really wanted to work in a start-up and also that I wanted to move to a different city. And that’s how I came to Caroobi and to Berlin.
You know, the Berlin start-up scene is simply unique. The fact that several start-ups come into being here every week gives the city a dynamic atmosphere that is contagious. And because I had a general interest in getting into this sector, Berlin was a hotspot that couldn’t be ignored. I love this city and will definitely stay here for the time being.
