The logistics industry is one of the Berlin-Brandenburg region’s most important economic sectors. This is reflected by the 200,000 colleagues who are employed in this occupational area, working as couriers, IT software architects, consultants and much more.
As a major hub for European flows of traffic and goods, with excellent road, rail and air links, the capital region has more than 100 larger companies that are active in this field. For example, Deutsche Post DHL, DB Mobility Logistics and Kühne + Nagel have subsidiaries in Berlin, making them potential employers.
For your job search, you could also contact the five major freight centres, such as GVZ Westhafen, Berlin Airports and Berlin’s ports, for example, along with Amazon, Rossmann and Zalando, which have recently opened subsidiaries and/or are in the process of expanding in the region.
As well as commercial roles, employment in logistics-specific networks and associations is also a good option. Examples of these include Verband Verkehr & Logistik Berlin und Brandenburg e.V., Vereinigung von Fachleuten der Logistikbranche in der Deutsche Verkehrswissenschaftliche Gesellschaft, and the VDMA (the network and voice of mechanical engineering, Verband Deutscher Maschinen- und Anlagebau e.V.).
