Who are you and what do you do?

NICE Europe Research GmbH (NICE Europe) is a newly established R&D Center in Berlin, Germany, and is a branch of the National Institute of Clean-and-Low-Carbon Energy (NICE) in Beijing, China. NICE is the corporate research arm of China Energy Investment Corporation (China Energy) which is an integrated energy company and a Global Fortune 500.

Environmental problems faced by the world today are becoming increasingly prominent, including global climate warming, damage to ecosystems, and loss of biodiversity. NICE Europe Research GmbH is willing to work with its European counterparts to face difficulties and challenges together and promote sustainable development worldwide. These are our topics:

1. Explore and develop new renewable energy technologies such as solar energy, wind energy, and hydropower, as well as energy storage technologies, to improve energy efficiency and reduce dependence on traditional fossil energy.

2. Promote the concept of green development, strengthen cooperation in energy use, production and consumption, and achieve more results in emission reduction, environmental protection, and sustainable development.

3. Construct a clean energy market to promote the production, trading and circulation of clean energy. Green finance, carbon market and emission trading are more mature in European renewable energy sector. NICE Europe very much looks forward to experience sharing and business cooperation in this regard.

4. Conduct talent training and exchanges: carry out talent training and exchanges in energy technology and management, strengthen talent exchanges and technical cooperation, and promote the long-term development of China-Europe energy industry.

5. Promote energy security cooperation: the two sides have great cooperation potential in safeguarding energy security. We can strengthen cooperation in energy supply, energy conservation, emission reduction, and utilization of green energy, enhance information exchange and resource integration, and jointly respond to global energy security challenges.

What are you planning in Berlin?

We are building teams to develop cutting-edge sustainable and affordable technologies to improve energy efficiency, protect the environment, and mitigate climate change. Our ability to excel depends on the integrity, knowledge, skill, imagination, passion, and teamwork of people like you. 

Currently we have multiple openings for senior scientists and engineers with a range of focus areas including hydrogen, energy storage, new materials and processes, and specialists in project management as well as marketing and business development. We are targeting to build a team of qualified and experienced professionals - this could include engineers, software developers, marketing specialists, designers, project managers, and other experts who can help us develop and launch our products and services.
