On the one hand, you have the option of working for one of Berlin’s many digital agencies such as denkwerk, Moccu or VALID, which focus on web development and mobile applications (apps). While on the other hand, Berlin or Brandenburg-based firms with in-house web development departments are also potential employers, such as Testo AG or Roche Deutschland Holding GmbH, for example.

Coding Schools in Berlin

In Berlin, you will find numerous coding schools that enable you to enter the IT industry - without a degree. Here you will not only learn coding, but also gain practical digital skills that prepare you for specific jobs in areas such as web development, data science or cloud computing. The programs are intensive, compact and ideal for career changers who want to get their career off to a fresh start.

The teaching is practice-oriented: instead of dry theory, you work on real projects and learn in a team. Many coding schools focus on boot camps - compact courses over three, six or twelve months that prepare you specifically for starting your career.

There are also good funding options in Berlin: Many of the coding schools can be financed via an education voucher from the Agentur für Arbeit or the Jobcenter - often completely free of charge for you if the school is certified. Alternatively, some providers offer so-called income share agreements - you only pay once you have a job.
